Suminagashi “Floating Ink” Prints - art activity
7:00 to 10:00 pm
Suminagashi, or "floating ink," is a Japanese paper-marbling technique that involves dropping ink onto a water surface and gently manipulating it with breath to create swirling patterns. The ink spreads and shifts, illustrating how small changes can have a ripple effect. Inspired by Christina Battle’s exhibition, this activity symbolizes the interconnectedness of all things and serves as a metaphor for environmental awareness: just as our actions influence the patterns in Suminagashi, they also impact the environment.
