Volunteer Opportunities

Tour Guides

Contribute to a friendly, inviting atmosphere and exceptional visitor experiences as a Museum London Tour Guide! As a Tour Guide you will be facilitating and planning tours for school-aged children (elementary and high-school), adults and special-needs individuals. We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about learning, have excellent public speaking skills, and an interest in art and history.

Student Teacher Educational Volunteer

Are you currently enrolled in teacher's college and want to experience more hands-on teaching experience and lesson planning? At Museum London, about 8,000 students visit each year. This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse student population. We offer programs for students in grades K-12, giving student teachers the opportunity to work with grades they may not have worked with before. Our tours are based on an experiential learning model and focus on the curriculum appropriate for each grade. We also focus a considerable amount of attention on students with special learning needs and help develop programming and teacher resources. Students will have the opportunity to work with a variety of people, as well as a variety of technologies.

Retail & Art Sales Associate

Are you interested in art and engaging with the arts community? Do you have some retail experience? We are recruiting a team of volunteers to work in our gift shop and art rental department. Located in Museum London, the Shop sells unique objects and showcases local and regional artists, inviting Museum visitors to take their experience home. Volunteers will work together creating compelling seasonal displays, act as art consultants for customers and express excellent customer service. If you have an interest in art and local craft, can commit to a regular shift on an on-going basis and want to contribute to your community, the Shop at Museum London is the place for you!

Programs & Events Assistant

Do you like interacting with people and being informed about community events? Are you familiar with Museum London and its programs? Become a Programs and Events Assistant with Museum London and you will not only gain skills in event management but also gain an appreciation for the London arts community. Our Programs and Events Assistants help with various events throughout the year including Artist Workshops, Film Screenings, Lecture Series, Nuit Blanche, and Museum Underground events such as the Crawl. Volunteers are needed on an ongoing basis.

Camp Assistant

Do you enjoy spending time with children and teaching them new things? Do you like experimenting with new techniques to make different art projects? By assisting with our Children’s Programs, you can explore various art techniques in their basic form while assisting camp participants. Our Camp Assistants help with various camps throughout the year including PA Day Camps, March Break Camp and our Summer Camps.

Do you have photography skills or are you experienced with social media? Become a Marketing Volunteer to help spread the word about all the great things happening at Museum London and around the community. Volunteers will create and research compelling content for image galleries and social media platforms in order to report on events and programs at Museum London before, during, or after they have happened.
