Community Gallery, Second Level
Living Room Jam Sesh is an exciting, hands-on art project created by thirty talented students from Holy Cross Secondary School’s Technologies and Visual Arts departments.
Inspired by London’s rich and experimental cultural heritage, the influential London Regionalist Movement, the legacy of the Nihilist Spasm Band, and our proud designation as a UNESCO City of Music, Living Room Jam Sesh reimagines everyday utilitarian furniture as a vibrant playground where collaboration, art and music come together.
Step inside and discover a suite of handcrafted, interactive music-making furniture: a woodwind lamp, slap pipe couch, guitar coffee table, harp chair, xylophone table, and more. Interspersed with student artwork that delve into themes of sound and music, every piece invites you to relax, engage, play, and make some noise!
Whether you’re a seasoned musician, a curious museum explorer, or somewhere in between, everyone is welcome to experiment with sound expression solo, improvise with others, or watch artists of all kinds collaborate and jam together. Pull up a chair, strike a chord, and see where Living Room Jam Sesh takes you.
