Words is pleased to present “The Forgotten Ones,” featuring Eric Arts, Kate Choi, and Prachi Srivastava, three Western researchers who are highlighting the inequalities that have caused vulnerable populations to be hit the hardest by COVID-19.
Words will visit with Western researchers who are looking at the novel coronavirus pandemic from every angle — medicine, science, education, culture, and socio-economics. We will bring three of those researchers together to have a conversation about the many ways COVID-19 is taking global — and local — inequalities to even greater heights.
Eric Arts – Canada Research Chair in HIV Pathogenesis and Viral Control, and Department of Microbiology & Immunology – Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry – Western University.
Kate H. Choi is a family demographer, inequality scholar, and quantitative sociologist. Her research examines the nature, determinants, and consequences of social inequality.
Prachi Srivastava is an Associate Professor in the area of education and international development at Western University.
