London Community Foundation presents this series of tours, films and talks on Thursdays, inspired by Carey Newman’s Witness Blanket installation.
See this 40-foot memorial comprised of over 800 objects collected from residential school sites. Learn about master carver Carey Newman and his year long journey creating the Witness Blanket. View films and join in discussions about the residential school legacy in Canada and ongoing efforts towards reconciliation.
Join us on the first Thursday on June 15 at 7 PM.
- 7 PM: Museum London Cultural Interpreter will introduce visitors to the Witness Blanket installation at Museum London.
- 7:30 PM: Screening of “Our Voices, Our Stories,” a film by Barbara Cranmer documenting BC’s Namgis Community as they demolish the Alert Bay residential school.
