Join us for our Magisterra at the Museum! Every other month the Magisterra Soloists come to the Museum to perform in our theatre. Each concert is focused on a different theme and you can see all their events at magisterra.com.
Russian Night is an evening with Magisterra Soloists which juxtaposes string quartets written under Russia’s brightest and darkest skies. Glazunov composed in a time of great cultural vitality; Stravinsky, during a time of revolution and exile; Shostakovich, while being faced with censorship, precarity, and war. Lush romantic melodies meet provocative and dark sonorities in this diverse program which is entirely Russian, and entirely relevant to today’s audiences.
