Inspired by the London Bicentennial theme, “Honouring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future,” the London Society of Architects is pleased to welcome Michael McClelland, founding Principal of ERA Architects, for a special lecture. A registered architect and a leading voice in heritage conservation, Michael brings over 30 years of experience at the intersection of architecture, urban design, and heritage planning. His work has shown how thoughtful, values-based conservation can strengthen cultural identity and support vibrant, resilient communities.

In this lecture, Michael will explore how heritage conservation can honour the past while helping guide future decisions. As London marks this milestone—and celebrates its designation as Canada’s Forest Capital for 2026–2027—this conversation offers a timely opportunity to consider how architecture, landscape, and heritage can contribute to a lasting sense of place.

About the London Architecture Series:
Presented in partnership with the London Society of Architects, the London Architecture Series is a seasonal program of free events that explore the practice of architecture in our region and across Canada. Each session invites attendees to engage with architects, designers, and thinkers who shape our built environment, offering fresh perspectives on design, sustainability, and community. Whether you’re a professional, student, or simply curious, this series is a welcoming space to learn, connect, and be inspired.
