Ahead of Bingo!, the highly anticipated exhibition by artist Nico Williams opening October 31, join three distinguished scholars, storytellers, and cultural leaders for a thought-provoking conversation on the intersections of history, art, and Indigenous identity. Through discussions of art, material culture, and lived experience, panelists will explore the diverse histories and identities of the Great Lakes region and consider how creative practices can deepen our understanding of the past and present.
Panelists include Linda Sioui, an anthropologist from the Huron-Wendat Nation of Wendake; Sara Mai Chitty, a storyteller and educator from Alderville First Nation; and Julie Rae Tucker, Director of Exhibitions Programs and Collection at Art Windsor-Essex, from Munsee-Delaware First Nation.
Presented in partnership with Huron Community History Centre at Huron University College, all History Now! lectures are free to students and educators. Registration is required for all.
