Celebrate the beauty of local flora through the art of embroidery in this beginner-friendly workshop led by Southwestern Ontario textile artist Alejandra of Candle with Hare.
Drawing inspiration from Amanda McCavour’s Double Shadow, participants will be guided step-by-step through foundational hand embroidery techniques, learning essential stitches that form the building blocks of contemporary textile art. Along the way, we’ll explore how to translate natural forms into thread, and participants will create their own intricately stitched 4” botanical hoop inspired by the plants and textures of the region.
Ideal for those new to embroidery as well as anyone looking to reconnect with a mindful, creative practice. Registration is required, all materials provided.
