Inspired by the PhotoVoice research methodology, co‑curators Dr. Amber Lloydlangston and Danielle Longfield invited new parents in their first year at home with their newborns to share glimpses of their daily reality through photography. Their aim was to build community, spark meaningful dialogue, and shed light on the forms of caregiving and emotional labour that often go unseen by the broader public.

Join the co‑curators as they discuss the development of Snapshots of Us and hear how the exhibition came together, the collaborative methods that shaped it, and the insights they gained along the way. Through compelling images and personal stories, they’ll share how the project brings these lived experiences to light, revealing the challenges, joys, and quiet moments that define early parenthood.

Presented in partnership with Huron Community History Centre at Huron University College, all History Now! lectures are free to students and educators. Registration is required for all.
