Learn the basics of silkscreen printmaking and create unique, handcrafted gifts in this hands-on workshop led by local artist and designer Alayna Hryclik of soft flirt.
Inspired by the bold, expressive work throughout the exhibition Tropi-X: Brazilian Art in Canada, 1970s–Now, this guided workshop invites you to explore printmaking in a fun, small-group setting. Participants will be guided through the basics of silk screening and get to work with a curated selection of Alayna’s original designs, inspired by the work of Brazilian artist Renina Katz. Everyone will receive 10 blank cards with envelopes and two 27 x 27” organic cotton tea towels to transform into beautiful, personalized prints. Whether you’re making gifts or keeping them for yourself, you’ll leave with something truly one-of-a-kind!
