With humility and respect we acknowledge that Museum London sits at the forks of the Deshkan Ziibi on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Attawandaron.
The Black History Slam is back with its second annual event!
Join us for a memorable evening of music, poetry, and community as we celebrate Black History Month under the theme Roots and Rhythm: Celebrating Black Legacy in London. This event will feature spoken word performances by four incredible poets, including headliner Eddie Lartey, soulful musical performances by artist Tiffany Chantelle, and an engaging panel discussion with local creatives. Doors will open at 5:30 pm, with performances starting at 6:00 pm. For the full event agenda, please see www.spokenculture.com.
Between performances, attendees are invited to tour Ukutula: Our Timeless Journeys, an expansive group exhibition celebrating African dance and music featuring the work of five contemporary artists from the African and Asian diasporas. Drop-in, guided exhibition tours will take place at 5:30 and 7:10 pm.
This event is free, and all are welcome to attend. As space is limited, registration is required.
