We're thrilled to share that Resilient London: Meet Your Neighbours has been awarded the 2024 Award of Excellence in Community Engagement by the Ontario Museum Association (OMA)!
The OMA Award of Excellence in Community Engagement recognizes projects that have increased the community's engagement with the museum or institution.
Resilient London: Meet Your Neighbours launched on October 7, 2023 and ran through May 12, 2024 in our Ivey Galleries. Curated by Amber Lloydlangston, Museum London's Curator of History and Contemporary Culture, the exhibition was co-created with 71 community members and featured life-sized portraits in tandem with stories and contemporary artifacts. Showcasing the objects, artworks, songs, and videos of resilience from a wide range of Londoners, the exhibition underscored the value of community support and belonging during times of personal hardship and personal growth.
We are deeply grateful for this recognition and extend our sincere gratitude to the OMA, our Resilient London participants, and the many staff members, community partners and sponsors who made the exhibition come to life.
