It's National Volunteer week and we'd like to take this moment to thank all our volunteers that help out out every single day here at the Museum. Without Museum London volunteers, we would not be able to do what we do! Thank you to each and every one of you. In 2018, 189 of these wonderful folks volunteered a total of 11,000 hours of their time! This year to thank our volunteers, we celebrated their generosity with a luncheon (image above); speeches from Jordan Brennan (Volunteer and Retail Services Coordinator), Brian Meehan (Executive Director), Elizabeth Peloza (Board Member and London City Councillor for Ward 12), and Ken Andrews (Board Member and Chair of Volunteer Services Committee); followed by a screening of “Loving Vincent” in our theatre, and capped it off with a special volunteer discount sale at the Muse gift shop! Below are a few highlights of the many volunteers at the Museum and how they help out.
We are lucky to have so many volunteers assist with our Children's Programs, like Bella (left)! Here, she's helping Beatrice bind a homemade book. Thank you to Bella and all our other volunteers that help to enrich the lives of children in our community by helping them to learn new art techniques and learn more about our history and culture!
Kathy Fox has been a steadfast volunteer for our Culture Club program each month since January 2016! Thank you Kathy for always greeting visitors with a smile and being so patient when something unexpected pops up!
Suzanne has volunteered with us for 2 years and has been a huge help to customers in our gift shop, people on our walking tours, and visitors through the galleries! Thank you Suzanne for making an impact on our community and sharing your love of art and history!
