This exhibition features a selection of student artworks that respond to Museum London’s permanent collection, exploring the power of colour in Canadian art. Elementary and secondary students throughout the Thames Valley District and London District Catholic School Boards were asked to reflect on the theme of colour and create their own artwork.
Social justice, the environment, current events and day-to-day life are just some of the ideas that are explored in the thought provoking artwork. Teachers were encouraged to make the project a cross-curricular learning experience and incorporate the visuals arts, language and social studies. All submitted work was juried and approximately 100 pieces of student art in a variety of media are included in the exhibition. Museum London is committed to fostering partnerships with the wider education community and promoting opportunities for students to learn through the visual arts.
