March 30: Al McGregor, Novelist Novelist Al McGregor discusses his historical fiction. Drawing from his study of the American Civil War and Canadian Confederation to capture the drama of the 1860s, his research underlines the fear and uncertainty that gripped the country, and illustrates the key role of events in southwestern Ontario. McGregor’s fiction explores the Canadian connections to the American War (A Porous Border) and the final push to unite the former British colonies (To Build a Northern Nation).
