Kim Moodie’s work “Pink” is the inspiration for our Magenta Summer Art Kit with its bright bold shades, intricate design, and complete use of space. This Kit’s primary project is 3D sculpting on canvas that uses colour-tinted plaster strips to create textured designs inspired by Kim Moodie’s style. Also included is a clay-based pink piggy bank activity, a sculpture project using magenta wire clips and a design project that transforms glow sticks into a wearable work of art. Use window markers to illustrate new, creative additions to your surroundings. A shadow tracing activity allows for experimentation with light and textures and includes a specialty 3D drawing marker.

We’re bringing the magic of our summer camps to you at home again this year!  Our weekly Art Kits are like a camp-in-a-box loaded with a variety of educational, fun, and inspirational activities.  Enjoy the activities at your own pace, on your own time safely in your own space. There is an Art Kit for each of the scheduled six weeks, and each week has a different theme.

This summer we are bringing you a rainbow of themes using the colours of Museum London’s art collections to inspire the activities and projects. Each kit draws on a colour that is integral to the selected work and inspires the material choices and activities in the Kit. Our Art Kits are designed with diverse projects that encourage the development of new artistic skills, and creative play.

Each Art Kit Contains

  • An art activity sheet based on the colour-themed Museum London artwork
  • An activity-a-day for five days including:
-An art lab using traditional art supplies
-An environmental activity using upcycled materials
-A large scale project for you to think big
-A photo-inspired activity to investigate the world of photographs
-A tactile activity to play with dimension and texture
  • All the supplies for each project
  • Technique pages: tips and tricks for using your Kit supplies
  • A tutorial recorded by our art educators for your key Kit activity
  • Written Instructions for all activities
  • A surprise activity!
